Was it just a coincidence that two of the most popular superhero comic book series DC and Marvel Comics were each the brainchild of Jewish authors? In this series we examine the role of Jews in creating the genre of the superhero comic book and how they addressed issues of identity during moments of crisis in the United States, especially during World War II and the 1960s.
