Through the Eyes of a Child: What the Jewish Sunday School Movement Can Teach Us About American Jewish History


Laura Yares is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Religious Studies at Michigan State University. She is the author of Jewish Sunday Schools: Teaching Religion in Nineteenth Century America, which was a finalist for a National Jewish book award in 2023. Her second book, a contemporary ethnographic study of Jewish learning in cultural arts contexts, will be published with NYU Press in 2025.
