Making Their Mark: Walking Tour (French)

Hosted by

Join us for a special French edition of our historical walking tour, Making Their Mark!

From the late twentieth century to the 1950s, the Plateau was the epicentre of Jewish life in Montreal, as tens of thousands of Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe immigrated to the neighbourhood.

Discover how they worked, prayed and supported each other as they built new lives in Montreal. Our tour takes us to the synagogues, schools, hospitals and cultural organizations that these Jewish immigrants established – places that have left their mark on Montreal society today. Immerse yourself in the Jewish stories that took place in the streets and buildings of this lively neighbourhood.

Please note that this tour will take place in French.

Start and End Points: This tour begins at 3961 Boul. Saint-Laurent, and the tour will end at the corner of Rue Bagg and Rue Clark.

Weather Policy: In the event of light rain, the tour will go on as scheduled. In the event of a thunderstorm or heavy rain, the tour will be postponed to the next available date.
