Presented by Dr. Thomas O’Neil, Hospice of Michigan

Many people have misconceptions of what hospice care means. Come learn about the reality of palliative and hospice care and how this care can be supportive and dignified.

Dr. Thomas O’Neil was named Associate Vice President, Chief Medical Officer for NorthStar Care Community in June 2024.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. O’Neil manages members of the not-for-profit’s Medical Affairs team, including all physicians and nurse practitioners at Arbor Hospice, Centrica Care Navigators, Hospice of Michigan and NorthStar Palliative Care.

Dr. O’Neil completed a Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the University of Michigan and remained at the University of Michigan as faculty until 2018.

He earned the designation Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (FAAHPM) in 2021 for his work as a physician who cares for patients with a serious illness.
