Program begins at 7:30 PM

Temple Beth El, Bloomfield Hills, MI

(open to the community)

Join us with moderator, Cheryl Chodun, as Stan chats about his new book, “The Girls: From Golden to Gilmore,” and spills all the juicy details about your favorite characters like Dorothy, Rose, Sophia, Blanche, Lorelai, Rory, and Sookie.

A proud graduate of Temple Beth El and Southfield High School, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Fine Arts from NYU. Now, Stan is back as the special guest of the Sisterhood of Temple Beth El on Wednesday, October 23. Get ready for a night full of fun and nostalgia!

Stan’s impressive career includes two Writers Guild of America Award nominations for Best Comedy Episodic Writing on “The Golden Girls” and “Roseanne.” He’s written and produced episodes of “The Gilmore Girls,” co-written the Lifetime sitcom “Rita Rocks,” and contributed to the “Brady Bunch” movies. His directing credits in LA include “Entertaining Mr. Sloane,” “A Tuna Christmas,” “Gemini,” and “Pledge.” Stan has even graced Broadway alongside Rudolf Nureyev and the Joffrey Ballet, and taken his suicide awareness play “right before I go” on an East Coast tour with actress Virginia Madsen and “Gilmore Girls” cast members. Recently, TRW Plays published three of his works: “Yes Virginia,” “Silver Foxes,” and “right before I go.”

Colin Mochrie of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” raves about Stan’s book: “Having been fortunate to have been directed by the fabulous Stan Zimmerman, I feel even luckier to have read his book. Stories (and let’s face it, a little dirt) about the fabulous women he has worked with, interspersed with the rollercoaster emotions of being a writer, producer, showrunner in this not always appreciative business, makes this book the very definition of a page-turner. READ THIS BOOK!!! Devour it like cheesecake!”
