JEWISH IDENTITY: WHO IS A JEW? with Ruth Bergman

In-Person I Max M. Fisher Federation Building

WEDNESDAYS, 10 – 11:15 AM

Sept. 11, 18, 25

Are Jewish people an ethnicity, religion or culture? The answer is yes! The evolution of Jewish identity from the Bible to today leaves us questioning not “who is a Jew?” but “what is a Jew?” Since biblical times Jewish identity - what it means to be Jewish in connection to G-d, other Jews and other peoples - has changed and changed again. Together, we will study various texts that define Jewishness as an ethnicity, religion, culture…and even a political identity!

Tuition: $60
