Are you a neurodivergent* young adult who is feeling misunderstood and/or isolated? L'Annexe's Neurodivergent Support Group, now happening on the first Wednesday of each month, intends to hold space where neurodivergent* individuals can both provide and experience solidarity by coming together to listen and express themselves.
The Neurodivergent Support Group aims to create a welcoming space where neurodivergent people aged 16 to 35 can benefit from giving and receiving peer support in a small group of those who may have certain experiences in common. This peer support group, facilitated by Sasha, is not a therapy group. If you have questions about what this means, please don't hesitate to ask us by emailing [email protected]
The group will begin with a check-in activity followed by free chat and/or facilitated activities to promote expression, and then will conclude with a brief grounding exercise.
*Neurodivergent does not have one official definition. It often includes, but is not limited to:
- those who are autistic / have autism (ASD, Asperger's, PDD-NOS, etc.)
- those who have ADHD, learning disabilities, etc.
- those who have differences of cognitive function, development, etc.
If you relate to the above experiences, whether due to a specific official diagnosis or not, you are welcome to join us! If you have questions or concerns about participating, you are welcome to email us at [email protected]
Snacks will be served during the group. If you have food allergies, please let us know by emailing [email protected] at least 1 day prior to the group, if possible.
Please note that L'Annexe is accessed by traveling through a large building and then finally via staircase that does not have an elevator alternative. Regrettably, this limits our physical accessibility. If this is your first time coming to L'Annexe and you have concerns about access, please don't hesitate to email us in advance at [email protected]
