Join Temple Israel’s People of the Book Club for coffee, cookies, and engaging discussion with Rabbi Jen Lader over The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. Named a best book of the year by NPR/Fresh Air, Washington Post, The New Yorker, and Time Magazine, you won’t want to put down this must-read novel! Delve into the secrets of a small-town community in Pennsylvania, where Jewish immigrants navigate the complexities of their integration efforts amidst the diverse residents of Chicken Hill. 


We will be offering two sessions:
