A romantic evening on the river awaits! Grab your partner and paddle your way down the Detroit River on a sunset tour guided by the pros at Detroit Outpost. While the sun’s spectacular setting is certain to be the star or the show, we’ll be taking in some other waterfront sites including the super fancy Fisher Mansion and the impressive neighboring real estate. This tour is for kayakers of all skill levels including beginners!
The tour leaves promptly at 6:30 PM, so we ask that you please arrive at 6 PM to get your gear, sign your waiver and be ready to go.
What to wear? What to bring?
Great questions! Don't wear anything that can't get wet. Comfortable and athletic is the way to go. A hat to protect you from the sun while it's still out is recommended. Think about layering up top for when the the sun sets as it could get a little cool on the water. The kayak has room to hold some small personal items, and we definitely recommend bringing your own reusable water bottle to keep hydrated on the journey. If you're brave enough to bring your phone out on the water, we recommend putting it in an air-tight Ziplock baggy or waterproof container.
