Join us for a heartwarming gathering as we knead, braid, and bake Challah together as a key to celebrating connection, Jewish joy, and culture. Bakers 10+ of all backgrounds welcome. Gluten free table will also be available.

  • Pour your love for community into each bite. This year, Helaine Green, our expert baker, will guide us in braiding our dough into a "Shlissel," or key challah, a tradition often observed on the first Shabbat after Passover, believed to bring good livelihood. Each table will have all the ingredients, tools, and friendly support they need. *

  • Challah is more than bread; it's a symbol of togetherness. Bringing people to the table and sharing our rich traditions and food is key to strengthening bonds and building community.

  • Who will you bring to the table? Share your challah with friends and family at Shabbat the following day. Is there someone who would love to learn about your Jewish culture and traditions through food? We challenge you to invite them to your table.

This event is made possible in part by a grant from the Town of Los Gatos. With the goal of creating a town rooted in diversity, awareness, and inclusion for people of all backgrounds.
