About the Event:
Heroes – First Testimony celebrates the resilience of individuals who have stood in the face of evil and fought through the impossible reality of the massacre and war. Hear firsthand accounts of heroism and triumph over adversity.
Presented by The Ministry of Diaspora Affairs together with the JCC Association of North America and the Zionist Enterprises Department, this event is part of a larger initiative bringing the voices of our Oct. 7th survivors to our communities.
You will hear these personal stories of resilience:
Batia Holin - Kibbutz Kfar Azza: Batia's determination and resourcefulness saved an entire neighborhood during the harrowing events of October 7, 2023. Despite the uncertainty and fear, she joined IDF forces to ensure the safety of her community while anxiously awaiting news of her family's rescue.
Rotem Holin - Kibbutz Kfar Azza: Rotem's courage and quick thinking protected her and her children during a terrifying encounter with terrorists. Despite the danger, she remained calm and managed to keep her family safe until help arrived.
Asaf Artel - Kibbutz Kissufim: Asaf's selflessness and leadership were instrumental in guiding his community through a crisis. His dedication to rebuilding and supporting others reflects the resilience of the human spirit in the face of tragedy.
Lior Shitrit - Nova festival: Lior's bravery and ingenuity saved lives during a dire situation. His quick actions and resourcefulness in improvising medical aid demonstrate the power of courage and compassion in the midst of chaos.
