In this series, we will consider the significant contributions that several Jewish women, both in the U.S. and in other countries, have made in various areas of science. We will pay particular attention in our examination and discussions on the challenges these women and others faced in pursuing their professional goals, both because of their gender and their religious identities, which were often at odds with the culture and politics of the times in which they lived
