ProMontreal Entrepreneurs and PME MTL present The ABCs of Starting a Business workshop. This workshop will provide participants with a baseline information on things to consider and know when starting a business. This workshop will cover the business plan, financials and business law.

The Business Plan: How to write a business plan.
Financing: Baseline information on things to consider and know about financing a business.
Business Law: The various legalities of starting a business.
Biography of presenters:
Kurt Houghton
Kurt Houghton holds a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in environmental studies from McGill University and an executive MBA from Université du Québec à Montréal with a specialization in collectively owned enterprises. He has over fifteen years of cooperative and non-profit management and administration experience and more than five years of entrepreneurial consulting and coaching.
Katherine Korakakis
Katherine Korakakis has spent most of her life working alongside start-ups in various verticals. For 10 years, she was the National Coordinator of Entrepreneurship for the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge for the Government of Quebec. She has authored guidebooks on entrepreneurship education. Katherine has served on the boards of numerous corporations and currently is the Vice-President of PMEMTL Centre-Ouest and President of EPCA. Katherine is the Manager of Entrepreneurship at ProMontreal Entrepreneurs, an early-stage VC fund and entrepreneurship program powered by Federation CJA that invests in multiple verticals. The fund has a social business model and has been around for over 22 years.
