The Mayerson JCC, in conjunction with Matt Tolentino and his New Liberty Dance Orchestra, proudly honor the music and legacy of the great Harry Richman.

Known as the Puttin’ On The Ritz man, Richman was born in Cincinnati in Over-The-Rhine on August 10, 1895 and is one of our city’s bright lights in the early days of film and radio. During his heyday he was one of the highest paid entertainers; he earned millions and introduced Americans to songs we still know and love – “On The Sunny Side of the Street,” “Blue Skies,” and of course “Puttin’ On The Ritz.”

Come hear the story behind one of the most celebrated stars of the 1920s and 1930s. Listen to the songs he made famous as Matt Tolentino and his New Liberty Dance Orchestra perform the original arrangements as they were heard 90 years ago. See and hear Richman with rare footage, interviews, and film clips from the silver screen.

Collaborative support provided by Joe Busam and Adam Swanson.
