Cognitive decline and memory loss can be a part of the natural course of aging. As we grow older, the brain undergoes changes that can affect cognitive functions.
For the independent member who has not already experienced memory loss, "Where Are My Keys?" is a program dedicated to the prevention of memory loss and preservation of cognitive abilities. Keep your brain healthy and active by engaging in cognitively stimulating activities that promote neuroplasticity, memory and cognitive function. This includes brain training exercises, brain teasers, puzzles, and memory games. In addition, this program will feature a range of social activities which include storytelling, scrapbooking, travel discussions, and much more!
*This program is not suitable for those who are already experiencing memory loss.
Instructor,Roula, Katsilakos, is a recreational therapist, is trained specifically on supporting recreational activities. Roula uses recreation and leisure-based interventions to help promote optimal well-being and quality of life. She has previously facilitated Game Hour, Bingo, Talk Fridays, the Social Walk Club, and other social clubs at the Cummings Centre!
