From witnessing our emotional history in Poland, to celebrating our pride in Israel - becoming a chaperone will offer you an unparalleled experience to cherish for a lifetime.
When: Tuesday, August 15 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Where: Virtually on Zoom
Trip Dates:
March of the Living (Sec. V students): May 2- May 15, 2024.
Journey of Hope (Cegep and University students): May 29- June 7, 2024 (Subject to change slightly).
Approximate Cost Per Chaperone to Attend the Trip:
March of the Living: approximately $12,500 Canadian (full tax receipt will be issued)
Journey of Hope: approximately $8,500 Canadian (full tax receipt will be issued)
Chaperone Fundraising Responsibility:
Each chaperone is responsible to reach a fundraising goal of $1800.
These funds go directly towards helping students attend the trip who would otherwise not be able to, as well to help send our survivors.
Pre-Trip Commitment:
Leading up to each trip (beginning in December), there are approximately 10 mandatory pre-trip preparatory sessions with the students & chaperones.
These pre-trip sessions take place during the week from 6:00 pm- 9:30 pm at Federation CJA.
There will also be a Shabbaton weekend prep-session with the students, held towards the end of January.
Eligibility:
Chaperones must be a minimum age of 25 years old as of May 1, 2024.
Must be of descent of at least one Jewish parent and must identify as being Jewish.
If you are the parent of a participant on one of the two trips, you will not be able to chaperone that same trip your child is on.
All of the above and more will be elaborated on Tuesday at the information session from 6:00 pm- 7:00 pm.
Applications will open as of 7:00 PM on August 15th and will close on September 15th.
