Help us celebrate Tu B’svhat — the original Earth Day — with a special program from Federation’s Israel & Overseas Department.
We’ll take an enlightening look at the most precious natural resource of all — water — from an Israeli innovation, Michigan-based environmental justice, and American national water issues lens. Our panel will be:
Professor Amit Gross, Director of the Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research at Ben Gurion University of the Negev. Amit will touch on how Israel “bloomed the desert” and became a beacon of water innovation and technology for the entire world.
Jonathan Quarles, a leader in using entrepreneurship as a platform for social impact, is the founder of the Flint-based Quartz Water Source, a business built on the belief that “Clean water is a right, not a privilege.”
Aviv Vered from Amiad Water Systems, a world leader in water treatment and filtration solutions headquartered in Kibbutz Amiad in Israel’s upper Galilee region dedicated to the purpose that “Clean water is life.”
Once established as a way for Jewish farmers to keep time, the contemporary Tu B’svhat festival serves as a reminder to be kind to our planet. Register today and join us for this natural way to celebrate the holiday.
Thank you to our event partners: Ben-Gurion University and Hazon.
