Join Hazon Detroit, The Well, Repair the World: Detroit, and Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue to honor Tu B’Shvat, the Jewish New Year of the trees! Root yourself in Jewish tradition as we nosh and sip our way through the newly updated 2023 Tu B’Shvat Haggadah focused on climate, stewardship, and community connection. Community leaders and a special guest from The Greening of Detroit will lead us through the seder while adding wisdom from their respective organizations.
We will be serving a vegetarian, kosher dinner along with ritual foods and wine. There will be dairy-free and gluten-free options available. Platform 18 is ADA accessible. Due to the generosity of donors, subsidized tickets are available for $10 per person until Wednesday, February 1st. If cost is prohibitive or special accommodations are needed, please reach out to Erica Meyers at [email protected]. Space is limited, so please register ASAP.
We will close the evening with a service project to support Keep Growing Detroit’s Garden Resource Program by writing plant identification tags. Learn more about the Garden Resource Program here: https://www.detroitagriculture.net/grp
COVID-19 policy: As an act of community care, we expect all participants to be vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19. We request that all other participants remain in “airplane mode:” masks on unless actively eating or drinking. Of course, everyone is welcome to wear masks regardless of vaccination status.
