Hosted by Jewish Federation Women’s Philanthropy, National Council of Jewish Women
In Israel, the battle for gender equality continues to rage. Even in the face of equality legislation, the challenges for women integrating into Israeli society are formidable. On top of that, women from marginalized communities struggle even more.
For more perspective, we’ll welcome Gadeer Kamal-Mreeh, the Jewish Agency’s first Druze emissary to the United States. Gadeer was the first Druze woman to be elected to the Israeli Knesset, and in 2017 broke yet another barrier by becoming the first non-Jewish anchorwoman in Israel to broadcast the evening news in Hebrew.
We’ll hear about Gadeer’s amazing triumphs against remarkable odds, along with her work to empower other women by creating opportunities for them to succeed. We’ll also hear briefly about the impactful work our community is doing on the ground in Israel with Fran Levey, NCJW Board of Directors/ NCJW Israel Committee Co-Chair and Sue Curhan, Women's Philanthropy Israel Connections Co-Chair.
You won’t want to miss this engaging, inspiring speaker, and discover all we're helping to accomplish in Israel. Register today. We look forward to seeing you.
