12 week Zoom series focusing on the whys and how tos of Judaism.

This series is SUPER practical and perfect if you want to intentionally bring more of our traditions into your home or want to keep up with what your kids are learning at day school/Sunday school.

Sweatpants, messy buns, and cameos from kids who haven't gone to bed yet are all welcome on this series!

Mamas in Pajamas Class Syllabus

1/18 - Transform Friday night into Shabbat: Understand the basics of Shabbat and how to make it fun and engaging for your family. This class will cover the whys and how-tos of candles, challah, kiddush, and the Shabbat meals. Taught by Malkie Friedman

1/25 Power of Parenting Moments - tie in to tu B'shvat - you reap what you sow - how to plant small seeds to make more memorable moments for your child that highlight Jewish values and show them what you value - story, torah examples, visual timeline, and worksheet included Taught by Ayala Kohn

2/1 - How to Actually Send "Thoughts and Prayers": This class will cover what Prayer is and how to access it in an authentic way. We will discuss practical tools to use prayers in building your child's self esteem and relationship with Hashem. Taught by Malkie Friedman

2/8 Kindness is Contagious - teaching our kids to be more charitable at their level - and bonus - the Torah says they start by giving at home! Torah source sheet, Story and take away activity suggestions included Taught by Ayala Kohn

2/15 - Owning Our Mitzvot - Learn why certain mitzvot are given specifically to women, how to do them, and what they mean. This class will also cover the unique role women have in Judaism and our community.

2/22 The Power of Positive Speech - Abra Cadabra! How you can transform your home environment with the right magic words! Worksheet, phrase sheet, Torah source sheet and kids books suggestions included. Taught by Ayala Kohn

3/1 - Kosher 101: Learn how to understand the different Kosher symbols, what makes food Kosher, and why we "keep" Kosher. Taught by Malkie Friedman

3/8 Don't be fooled by the disguise - why Purim is the polar opposite of Halloween - a class on the value of Jewish community. Torah sources, personal stories, and a guide to a meaningful Purim (print outs and suggestions for values based activities) Taught by Ayala Kohn

3/15 - Purim Primer: Go into Purim confident that you know how to celebrate and bring the party home. This class will cover the Purim story and how to celebrate and understand the 4 mitzvot of Purim with your family. Taught by Malkie Friedman

3/22 The Power of Traditions - why you should establish them and keep them. Torah sources and examples, story, a passover family tradition resource guide printable - ideas, writing prompts and references/online resources. Taught by Ayala Kohn

3/29 - Passover Seder: How to make this THE most memorable, fun, and engaging night. Taught by Malkie Friedman

4/5 Munching with meaning - teaching the values of humility and simplicity. Taught by Ayala Kohn
