Jewish identity and heritage are not easily articulated, but the tactile rituals of our faith lend themselves to vivid writing and identity exploration. Author and Writing Coach Lynne Golodner invites women to come together around Rosh Hodesh, the new Jewish month which is typically associated with gatherings of women and a poetic connection with the moon. We will write to prompts about symbolism, faith and Jewish identity, and discuss inspiring readings that relate to the prompts.
These writing workshops will happen monthly on the Sunday closest to Rosh Hodesh. It’s free to attend and open to any woman in the Detroit Jewish community. Advance registration is required. Click here to register for the series or individual sessions. Participants do not need any prior writing experience to participate – just a desire to explore topics of Jewish identity and engage in meaningful conversation with other Jewish women.
