Zera Café is a not for profit social enterprise catering business that employs people with developmental disabilities. Our missions are twofold: 1. to grow a catering business that provides supportive and meaningful work for people with developmental disabilities. 2. to produce modern Israeli cuisine that is delicious, innovative and vegetable-focused. Zera means seed in Hebrew, which reflects the essence of this vision – inclusion, and diversity in hiring people who grow and flourish as valued employees and community members. In addition to catering delicious food, Zera Café provides adults of intellectual diversity an opportunity for employment, source of income, personal growth, social interaction, and a sense of purpose. The café is more than a catering service or job, it provides meaningful employment with a strong sense of community within its four walls.
