A sustainable, progressive Jewish community in our own neighbourhood.

Mile End Chavurah is an intergenerational, participatory and inclusive community of Jewish Montrealers, rooted in, but not exclusive to, the neighbourhood of Mile End. We meet, engage, and celebrate in large and small groups, using the skills and passions of members to serve communal needs. Members co-create Jewish social, ritual, cultural, and spiritual learning, inspired by the ideals of the Chavurah movement’s community participation, progressive Judaism’s engagement in social movements, and Jewish Renewal’s reimagining and reinterpretation of Jewish practice. Our vision is to create a thriving, joyful, inclusive and participatory Jewish Community based in Mile End, with engaged members from across Montreal. We are committed to building a grassroots community beyond labels - open minded and unaffiliated- that encourages all to collaborate in honouring and re-invigorating, Jewish tradition.
